Anthony Grimes is an internationally-recognized

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete”.
— Richard Fuller
Native to the Park Hill neighborhood in Denver, CO, Anthony Grimes has been instrumental in forming movements that shape culture in a variety of arenas. As part of the movement for Black lives, Grimes founded the Denver Freedom Riders to support the Ferguson and Baltimore uprisings, building a grassroots network of thousands of people. Grimes was honored as the keynote speaker in the 2014 MLK Marade, which reached a record-breaking 40,000 people.
Grimes has led delegations internationally to call for change in human rights offenses. His influence in global movements was recognized by being selected to keynote the Netherland’s first conference for the ‘Decade for People of African Decent’ in association with the United Nations. He was also the first American activist to tour internationally as part of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation’s ‘Beloved Community Project,’ where his work was featured in the Trouv magazine.
Driven by merging the best of the human mind and heart, Grimes approaches storytelling through a lens of empathy. As a filmmaker, he is the Executive Producer of ‘Mr Somebody,’ a biopic set in the streets of Watts, LA; As well, he produced ‘To the Muse,’ filmed in Cuba, highlighting the story of a boy who defies all odds to pursue his passion in music. Both films are being featured internationally. Grimes roots his work in the Black freedom movement tradition to “Redeem the soul of America.”
